A new baby is one of life’s purest joys, and the Bible celebrates every child as known and made by God. These verses are for cards, baby showers and nursery walls. Here is one for the little one.
A verse for you

Psalm 139 describes God knitting a child together in the womb: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Before anyone saw the baby, God did. Jeremiah 1:5 says the same: “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee.”
The Bible calls children “an heritage of the Lord,” a gift entrusted to parents. Hannah’s words over her long-awaited son, “For this child I prayed,” are some of the most moving in Scripture.
Numbers 6:24-26 is the classic blessing to speak over a newborn: the Lord bless thee and keep thee, make His face shine upon thee, and give thee peace.
Psalm 139:14, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made,” and Psalm 127:3 are the most chosen.
Short lines work best: “For this child I prayed” (1 Samuel 1:27) or Numbers 6:24 “The Lord bless thee, and keep thee.”
